Attach a date heading to a task row

Question 1:     

I want to add a date heading about half-way through my schedule.  Is this possible?

Question 2: 

Other than adding a text note, is there a method to add a custom date format as Q4FY25 or QTR4FY25 to either milestones or task bars?

Question 3: 

I would like to put a date heading roughly every 12 rows so that I can see the date range no matter where I am on the page.  

 

Answer 1:

Here's how: 

  1. Right click any task row (blank is best)
  2. Choose Attach Date Heading.
  3. Make selections in the dialog box.

Answer 2:

Similar to above, a custom date heading can be attached to a row showing the fiscal year and quarter.  See Custom Headings.


Answer 3:

Once a date heading has been attached to a date row with the desired date heading properties, it can be easily copied and pasted as many times as needed.

  1. Right-click the row with the date heading.
  2. Pick Copy Task.
  3. Right-click on a blank task row.
  4. Choose Paste Task.  That's it!
