Using the comment symbol

How are Milestones' comment symbols generally used in a schedule?

Answer:

The comment symbol is used when a symbol should not interfere with (be included in) a duration value or start/end dates.

For example, if you had a row for Task 1 and start/end dates for that task, you might add a milestone before that start for a meeting. A comment symbol, representing the date of the meeting, would not interfere with Task 1's Duration SmartColumn or Start/End SmartColumns.

To change a symbol from the default Normal type to a Comment type, double-click a symbol in the Toolbox and Comment Symbol.
