Microsoft Project file name for schedules created from Microsoft Project

Question:

What happens when/if you update the MS Project file and save it under a new name (e.g. as of date)? Do you have to go back in and re-Tag every symbol? Or does each Unique ID from the original file remain the same for those symbols that you had in the original file? I guess that a different way of asking this question is: How can I update my MS Project file and give it a new filename without having to go and re-link every symbol on my Milestones Professional schedule?

Answer:

When you save a Microsoft Project file under a new name, the unique Ids don't change.  So, there is no need to re-link.

The file name is not associated with the symbols, only the unique ID.  So, if you rename your Microsoft Project schedule you will not need to change the links on your Milestones Professional schedule.
