Question:
I want to put multiple milestones on one task line but line them up on different levels of the task bar. How do I do this?
How do I stack more than one timeline on the same row? When I create it centers in the middle of the row and I can't move it. I want to show, develop, design, test, etc. all on the same row. The dates overlap each other. When I try to create a separate timeline it lays on top of the previous one.

Answer:
Each symbol can be positioned within the row. A total of 11 positions (levels) are available.

Change the position setting in the toolbox:
-
Double click the symbol you plan to change (in the toolbox)
-
Go to the Text and Date Properties tab.
-
For Symbol Position, choose one of the available symbol positions: (in earlier versions choices were upper, middle, lower.)

Change the position setting of a single symbol or task bar on the schedule:
- Click
(the arrow tool.)
- In the schedule area, click once on the symbol to be changed. This will display the Selection menu.
- On the Size/Color tab, Other Overrides section, choose one of the available symbol positions.
-or-
-
Click (the arrow tool.)
-
In the schedule area, click once on the symbol (or left most symbol for a bar) to be changed.
-
Hold the Shift key, and then press the up arrow key to shift the symbol's position up or press the down arrow key to shift the symbol's position down.
-
In Step 2, if the user clicks on the left-most symbol in a symbol+bar+symbol combination, then the whole combination will shift according to the Step 3 choice.
-
If the user clicks on the right-most symbol in a symbol+bar+symbol combination, then just that symbol will shift according to the Step 3 choice.

Adjust the amount of space for vertical symbol positions:
- On the Tools tab, choose Edit.
- Select a value between 10 and 300 to adjust the spacing. (Vert. spacing)
Examples:

Sometimes a symbol can appear to be on a row other than their actual row. Choose View | Other | Symbol Number Overlays to determine if a symbol is off-row.
Adjust the amount of vertical space for a single task row:
- Select a task row. The toolbar changes to Current Object: Task Row.
- In the Task Row Settings section, choose the dropdown for Upper/Lower Symbol Spacing %.
