Excel import is interpreting multiple rows as one long row

Question:

I am importing a simple Excel spreadsheet. My first row and second row are being imported as one long string of text. Any idea what's causing the problem?

Answer:

If your data contains a single double quote ("), the next line will be seen as a continuation. Remove the double quotes and the problem should be corrected.
