Graph a field not listed in the Project to Milestones wizard

Question:

I am bringing my Microsoft Project schedule into Milestones Professional.  I want to graph a custom field I have in Project which is not listed on the DataGraph screens in the wizard.  Is this possible?

Answer:

Yes.  The best approach is to bring the field in as a column and then use a "column ValueSet" (type 3) to graph the values across the timeline.

  1. Bring the Microsoft Project field into your Milestones schedule. See: Add a field from Microsoft Project
  2. Set up the ValueSet (as a type 2 ValueSet.)  (Tools | Set Up ValueSets)  See: Create and format ValueSets
  3. Add the ValueSet to a DataGraph. (Tools | Set Up DataGraphs)  See: Create and change DataGraphs
