Hatch patterns don't print (and more)

Question:

My hatch patterns printed fine yesterday. I haven't changed anything but now they are solid.

When copying to PowerPoint, hatch patterns appear solid. Worked last week!

I created a PDF and wow! It doesn't match my screen. All the patterns print solid. Help!

Answer:

A recent Microsoft Windows Update (March 2021) caused problems with hatch patterns in Milestones and many other applications.

Instead of waiting for the next Windows update we decided to research the issue and find a different way to generate hatch patterns in software. We found one and we are happy to report that the latest updates for Milestones 2017, 2019 and 2021 include the fix.

In Milestones, choose Help | Download and Install Latest Software to get the latest update for your version.

A workaround is to use Edit | Copy Bitmap to Clipboard. Then, paste into Powerpoint or Word.
