Horizontal bar properties

Up to 32 horizontal bars can be shown in each schedule's toolbox. Each bar can be customized to meet unique requirements.

Customize a horizontal bar in the toolbox:

  1. Double-click one of the horizontal bars in the toolbox.

Customize the properties of each horizontal bar in the toolbox in these areas:

 

 

 

 

Bar type (shape)

Each bar in the toolbox and on the schedule can be changed to any one of 73 shapes.

 

 

 

 

Before status fill color   

Each bar can have a before status fill color and an after status fill color.  The before status color represents the completed portion while the after status color represents the future portion.

Fill pattern

                

57 available bar fill patterns include marbled color patterns.

Marbled bar fill patterns are full-colored bitmaps which will ignore any color fill settings. Use of these bar fill patterns increases the size of printer files and metafiles, especially on high-resolution printers. Thus, printing time may be increased.

 Special Effects

 Special effects can be applied to both the before status and after status portion

 

 

 After Status color  

The default after status date fill color for a horizontal bar is white as shown  (the vertical dotted line is the current date line and the default status date).  

This color will appear after the status date if Bars: Fill to Status Date is checked.  Both the before and after status colors can be changed.  The before status color represents the completed portion while the after status color represents the future portion.

 Target color  

Horizontal bar fill colors can fade to a target color.

  Separate colors can be set for before and after status.

 

 Arrow size for bars with arrows

Some horizontal bars are lines with arrow endings. The size of these arrow endings can be customized.

Under Arrowhead Size, choose Small, Normal, or Large.

 

Shadow size and color

 

  1. Under Shadow Settings, Show Shadow.

  2. Choose a Shadow Color from the list.

  3. Choose a Shadow Size (Small, Medium, or Large).

 

Highlight symbols that use selected connector

This is usually done to temporarily identify symbols which use the connector type.

 

Change the color of one horizontal bar on the schedule:

  1. Click .

  2. On the schedule, click once on the “start” (left most) symbol of the bar to be changed.

  3. The Selection menu is now displayed. Click the Size/Color tab.

  4. In Override Symbol and Bar Color choose to change the 1st Bar Color or the 2nd Bar Color.  Click on the box  marked "None" below to change the color:

             

Up to 2 horizontal bars can originate from any one symbol.

Always on top bars  

This option is a way to designate that certain horizontal bars are always on top of other bars.

Customize a horizontal bar to appear on top of other bars:

  1. Click .

  2. In the schedule area, click once on the left-most symbol attached to the horizontal bar.  This will display the Selection menu.

  3. Click the Size/Color tab.

  4. In the Other Overrides section, Horizontal bars from this symbol are on top of other bars.
