Project to Milestones Wizard - Choose symbology

On this screen of the Project to Milestones Wizard, it is possible to specify the symbology for the schedule.  Two choices are available on this screen.  

Symbology Type:  Several choices are available for content of the schedule area:

• Gantt bars - current: The Microsoft Project Start and Finish fields will be displayed.

• Gantt bars - current and baseline:  In addition to the Microsoft Project Start and Finish fields, the Baseline Start and Baseline Finish are shown.

• Gantt bars - compact sequential:  If tasks are sequential, this is a way to display them in a compact format.  If they are not sequential this format will cause overlay of information and is not recommended.

• Gantt bars - spacesaver:  Milestones will attempt to fit as many tasks on a row as possible for each outline level.  (If a summary bar has 10 tasks and they are sequential, they will appear on one row.  If they are not sequential, several rows will be used but typically fewer than 10).

• Gantt bars - custom symbology:   Choose this option and a customize button will appear for picking the symbols and dates to import. The recommended choice for custom symbology.

• Gantt bars - custom symbology2:   In previous versions, this was referred to as Gantt bars-custom.   Not the recommended choice for custom symbology.

• Milestones - condensed finish dates:  Finish dates only will appear on summary bars.  Start and Finish dates are be shown.

• Milestones - finish dates:  One row per task.  Only the Finish date is shown.

• Milestones - finish and baseline: One row per task.  Finish and Baseline Finish are shown.

• Milestones - finish dates rolled up to summary: Individual milestones are shown on individual rows and are also rolled-up to the summary level.
