Answer:Milestones Professional would need something like: type=application/mld exts=mlp Be sure that the server is set up with the above as well as each machine that runs Netscape. The above is not required for Internet Explorer. The user who submitted the question was using Netscape. You also need to define the MIME type on your web server. Also, note that Netscape 4.x does not properly handle long file names in the application definition. You will need to manually place double quotes around the application name in the "handled by" section of Preferences. More: You could also use: application/x-mdl exts=mlp The ml* MIME types are not registered anywhere, so you can really set it up however you want, so long as all your clients and servers agree on what to use. Within Netscape and Mozilla, you always need to also specify the application to use. Note that older versions of Netscape do not correctly handle spaces in filenames and thus you will need to enclose the path to the miles.exe executable in double quotes. This setting in the Netscape browser is under Edit | Preferences. Choose Applications and then Milestones. Click Edit and put double quotes around the path, e.g. "c:\program files\kidasa\milestones professional\system\miles.exe" %1. Internet Explorer does not need any Mime information since it uses the registry info to find the application. Generally, this problem/solution applies to UNIX web servers, not Windows servers.
