Remove shadow from some symbols

Question:

I have several triangle symbols on my schedule.  That said, I only want to show a shadow on a few of them. Is it possible to do that without having to change all of them?  I can’t find the option when I click on the triangles that I want to change.

Answer:

Symbol shadows are set up in the toolbox.  Since you only have a few symbols which need a shadow, it will be easy to remove the shadow from the currently used symbol and then add a new one which has a shadow.  Here are the steps to do what you want:

  1. Double-click the toolbox symbol currently being used.
  2. On the Color/Pattern/Shadow/Size tab  Show Shadow on Symbol.
  3. Right-click the row in the toolbox which has the triangle symbol being used.
  4. Choose Copy Selected Row.
  5. Right-click an unused row in the toolbox and choose Paste Copied Row over Selected.
  6. On the new row, double-click the triangle symbol.   Show Shadow on Symbol.
  7. Next, while holding down the Shift key, click each symbol which needs a shadow.
  8. Click the new toolbox symbol.
