Share user-defined symbols

Once a symbol has been defined with the Symbol Maker, it is easy to share it with other users of Milestones Professional.

NOTE: User-defined symbols that are embedded in the schedule, stay with the schedule when sent to another user and, therefore, do not need to be shared as described below.

Share user-defined symbols:

1. Copy the symbol files from the Symbols folder to a shared location.
2. Have the other users copy the files from the shared location and paste into their Symbols folder.

Share a user-defined symbol which was embedded:

1. Open the schedule which includes the embedded symbol.
2. Tools | Create or Edit Custom Symbol (starts the Milestones Symbol Maker.)
3. In Symbol Maker, File | Open | Embedded Symbol File...
4. Choose the embedded symbol.
5. File | Save | Symbol File.  The .SYM symbol file can now be shared with other users or other schedules.

 All the symbols created should be saved in the Symbols folder. To find the location of this folder, choose Tools | Program Options | Folders and find Symbols (*) and note the location of that folder.
