Spell check

Milestones Professional has a built-in spell checker. All of the following languages are installed: English (United States), English  (Canada), English (United Kingdom), French (Quebec), French (France), German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese, Danish, Finnish.

Choose which areas of the schedule to spell check, add words to the Milestones custom dictionary, and include words added while spell checking in a Microsoft Office applications.

Spell check the schedule:.

  1. Choose Tools | Spell | Spell Check Schedule.

  2. For each word that is not in the dictionary used by the spell checker, the user will be given the opportunity to Ignore, Ignore All, Change, or Add to Personal dictionary.

Change spell checking options:

Spell check options include the area of the schedule to spell check and the language to use.

  1. Choose Tools | Spell | Spell Check Options.

  2. Check areas of the schedule to spell check.

  3. Under Current Dictionary, choose a Language.

  4. Optionally, edit the custom dictionary.

  5. Choose from the list of checked options to determine which exceptions spell check should make.  

    • For example, Ignore words with mixed case will bypass words with capitalized letters located within the word (e.g. PrintScreen or PowerPoint).  

Edit the dictionary used for spell checking:

Words can be added and deleted from the Custom Dictionary used for spell checking.

  1. Choose Tools | Spell | Spell Check Options.

  2. Click Edit Custom Dictionary.

  3. To add a word, type the word and click Add.

  4. To delete a word, click once on the word from the list of current words and click Delete.

Include the Microsoft custom dictionary entries for spell checking:

When spell checking, the user may also rely on the list of words added to the custom dictionary created with the Microsoft spell checker.

  1. Choose Tools | Spell | Spell Check Options.

  2. Click the Browse button.

  3. Find and select the custom dictionary and then choose Open.

 The Microsoft custom dictionary is usually located under C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Proof\custom.dic.
