Stamp a schedule with a date, page number, file name and more

Question:

How do I add a date and time stamp to show when the schedule was created (up in the right-hand corner of the schedule)?

How can I place a date and time stamp in the lower left corner as a "footer"?

Can I add a file name and date as together somewhere on the schedule?

Answer:

Use a FreeForm text block with a substitutable text string.

  1. Select (the Text tool) in the ToolBox.

  2. Click the location on the schedule where the date-stamp should appear.

  3. Type "The  date is: &sysdate and the time is: &systime"

  4. Click away from this free-form text, and the date and time will be substituted for the & items.

    Example:  Entering this text:

  5.      File name is : &Filename

  6.      Current date is: &date

  7.      This is Page: &curpage of & maxpage

     Will give you:

Note: add a couple of blanks after "&systime".

Use any of the following substitutable text strings:

 &date current         schedule date

 &sysdate               computer date

 &curpage               current page number

 &maxpage             maximum page number

 &filename              filename of schedule

 &systime               computer system time

Some people turn off the date display in the upper corner and use a substitutable string instead elsewhere on the schedule. These strings are useful for page footers, also (used in conjunction with the "display on all pages" freeform text property).
