Symbol note frame and background

I see that I can change the background color for the symbol note. But what if I want to get rid of the background color and the frame? Is this a possibility?

Answer:

Yes, symbol notes are very customizable.

Click once on the symbol which has the note. The toolbar changes to Current Object: Symbol.
Click the small Notes tab (see illustration below.)
Remove the frame by clicking the Frame Type drop down and choosing None.
Remove the background by choosing the Special Effects drop down. Choose No Background; Transparent or No Background: Opaque. The picture below illustrates the difference.
