Make any day a holiday with the Milestones Professional Holiday Calendar. Create a single global holiday calendar for all schedules, create a separate holiday calendar for each schedule, or a select a common holiday calendar shared by other users on a network.
By default, new Milestones schedule will use the global holiday calendar, until a custom holiday calendar is created for the individual schedule.
Shade the holidays:

Choose Dates | Start and End Dates | More Settings.

Click Weekly/Daily/Holiday Settings.

Shade Holidays.

Click the Change button to choose a color.

Press OK.

Set up the holidays for all schedules (Global Holidays):

Choose Dates | Date Range Tools | Holidays (global).

To mark a day as a holiday, click once on each holiday.

Optionally, click the color selector ( )to choose a shade color for the day. The color will appear on the Gantt chart.

To scroll to another month, click on the up or down arrow in the scroll-bar or depress the Page Up or Page Down key on the keyboard.

Choose OK to accept those settings.
Set up the holidays for one schedule only:

Choose Dates | Date Range Tools | Holidays (schedule).

To mark a day as a holiday, click once on each holiday.

To scroll to another month, click on the up or down arrow in the scroll-bar or depress the Page Up or Page Downn key on the keyboard.

Choose OK to accept those settings.
Select an existing holiday calendar file:
If a global holiday calendar has been created by another Milestones user, it's possible to point Milestones to that file (Holidays.txt). This file containing the holiday dates can be shared on a network server.

Choose Tools | Options | Folders.

Next to Holidays, choose the Browse button.

Locate and select the TXT file containing the holiday dates.

Choose Open.
By default, the list of dates for the global holiday calendar is stored in a TXT file named Holidays.txt. The location of this file can be found under Tools | Options | Folders | Holidays. Also, duration computation is affected by holidays. If a task on the schedule spans a holiday, the day will not be included in the duration. A holiday calendar can be saved in a template for use by every new schedule.
