Export from Primavera

I would like to import from Primavera. Is there anything special I need to do to generate the XML files which Milestones can use?

Answer:

Below are the steps for exporting from Primavera P6 in a format which can be used by Milestones Professional for import and refresh.

1. Choose Export on the File menu.

2. Pick Microsoft Project (default of XML 2002/3 is fine)

3. Choose the Project and click NEXT.

4. Pick the template to be used. Choose Modify.

5. Check to make sure that under export, the options indicated are picked. The text field picked must be used as the unique ID field for import and refresh with Milestones.

6. Click Finish to complete the export from Primavera.
