Summary bars and symbols on the same level

Your summary bar’s position on a task line is based on the position of the start symbol and end symbol of the bar.

On  the above schedule,  the bars appear to be in the middle position and the triangles are at the lower position.

To resolve the problem, you first you need to know which symbols the summary bar is using. To find out the summary set-up:

1. Choose the Layout tab.

2. In the Other section, choose Summary Bar Settings.

The summary bar is using the following symbols and bar in the toolbox.  

1. To place the summary bar to be at the lower position change both of the summary bar symbols in the toolbox to be positioned as lower.

2. Double click each symbol in the toolbox. The Symbol Option dialog box appears.

3. In the Text and Date Properties tab change Symbol Position to Lower.
