Embed symbols in the schedule

User-defined symbols (.BMP and .SYM files) should be embedded in the schedule to make the schedule more portable -- when a schedule is shared, the embedded symbols go with it. Otherwise, custom symbols must be sent with the schedule as a separate files.

Symbols can be embedded in the toolbox (option 1 below, for .SYM and .BMP files), or saved as embedded symbols (option 2 below, for .SYM files only).

Double-click the user-defined symbol in the toolbox, or add the user-defined symbol to the toolbox (a .SYM or .BMP file).
Check Embed Above Symbol in File, as shown below.

Notes:

Only .BMP and .SYM files can be used as custom symbols and embedded in the schedule.
User-defined symbols should be stored in the Symbols folder. To find this folder which contains the user-defined symbols, choose Tools | Program Options | Folders. Notice the path as shown next to Symbols(*). For example, the Symbols folder could be the "My Documents" folder.

Choose Tools | Other Tools | Create or Edit Custom Symbol to open the Symbol Maker.
Create a user-defined symbol, or open an existing user-defined symbol for editing (a .SYM file).
Choose File | Save as Embedded Symbol.
Name the file and Save.
