Vertically linked symbols not moving as expected

Question:

I have my symbols vertically linked and they are not moving as expected.

Answer:

First, make sure dependency mode is turned on. Dates | Date Related Settings and Dependency Mode.

If it still doesn't work as expected, the next thing to check is that symbols being used are designated in the toolbox as "normal" and not baseline or comment.

Note that baseline symbols will move when vertically connected however if connected to a normal symbol the software will ask if you want a baseline symbol to move or be locked.
