Customize horizontal gridlines and shading for selected task rows

Customize the gridlines and shading for selected task rows. This setting overrides default gridline/shading settings and color theme settings.

Customize horizontal gridlines for selected tasks:

  1. Select the task rows that need gridlines.  This will display the Selection menu.

  2. Choose Selection | Task Row Settings | More Task Row Options  | Gridline/Shade.

  3. A message box may appear, which says that  Automatically Apply Outline Level… must be turned off before setting gridline and shading options for selected tasks. To have the software do this, click Yes.

  4. Click the Gridlines tab.

  5. Miles00000408.gif Show Gridlines in the areas of the chart which need gridlines: Left Columns, Right Columns, and/or the Graph/Schedule Area.

  6. Choose the Line Type.

  7. Choose the Line Color.

Customize shading for selected tasks:
  1. Select the tasks to be shaded. This will display the Selection menu.

  2. Choose Selection | Task Row Settings | More Task Row Options  | Gridline/Shade.

  3. A message box may appear, which says that  Automatically Apply Outline Level… must be turned off before setting gridline and shading options for selected tasks. To have the software do this, click Yes.

  4. Click the Shading tab.

  5. Miles00000408.gif Shade the Task Rows in the areas of the chart which need shading: Left Columns, Right Columns, and/or the Graph/Schedule Area.

  6. Choose the Shade Color and optional Target Color and Special Effects.

Example:

For a selected task row, the gridline settings change the bottom border of the task row. Below, Phase A and Phase B are selected:

...shading and gridlines are selected resulting in...

              

 

Choose the Gridlines tab or the Shading tab.

 

 

 Show Gridlines for one or more of the 3 sections.

 

 

 

Apply New Selections to all Three Sections.

 

 

Check if the left columns, schedule and right columns will all have the same shading and grid lines. Then, when one of the sections is changed, the other sections will change to the same new settings.

Reset Gridlines and Shades back to Schedule Defaults

 

 

Check to clear all gridlines and shading in this dialog box.

Apply only to visible tasks

 

Check if there are hidden task rows, as found in a filtered or rolled-up schedule. When using the Shift key to select contiguous task rows for formatting, non-visible task rows will also be formatted unless this option is checked.

 Shade the Task Rows for one or more of the sections.

 

Choose to shade the task rows.

Colors and shading.   Pick a primary color, and optionally a fade pattern and target color.

Alternating pattern.

 

Not available for selected grid lines.

       
 

 

 

 

 To reset all individual overrides made to column cell text color and size back to the schedule defaults, select any column, right-click and choose Reset all Row and Cell Font/Color Overrides for all Columns.  Before customizing gridlines and shading for selected task rows, Automatically Apply Outline level properties while editing schedule under Format | Gridlines | Gridlines, Shading, Font Sizes by Outline Level should be unchecked.
