Single or multiple symbols can be deleted. Deleting a symbol will also delete any horizontal bars or vertical links attached to the symbol.
Delete a symbol:

Click (the toolbox Arrow tool.)

Click once on the symbol to delete. This will display the Selection menu.

Click the Delete button on the left-hand side of the Selection menu, or press the Delete key on the keyboard.

Or, right-click the symbol and choose Delete.
Delete all symbols on one task row:

Right-click the task row.

Click Clear Symbols.
Delete symbols within a specified date range on selected task rows:

Select the task rows containing the symbols to be deleted. This will display the Selection menu.

Choose Edit | Delete | Symbols by date range. It's possible to choose to delete symbols up to and including a date; within a date range; and from a date. Enter the appropriate date or date range.

All symbols on the selected task rows which fall within the date range will be deleted.
Delete symbols within a specified date range:

Edit | Delete | Symbols by date range.

Make selections on the dialog box.
Delete all baseline symbols:
Choose Edit | Delete | All Baseline Symbols.
Note that the baseline can also be hidden. To hide the baseline Show Baseline on the View tab.
Delete all status symbols:
Choose Edit | Delete | All Status Symbols.
Delete horizontal bars from a symbol:

Click (the toolbox Arrow tool.)

Right-click the originating (left-most) symbol of the horizontal connection.

Choose Clear Horizontal Bars.
Delete all horizontal bars on a task row:

Right-click the task row (in a column cell) containing the horizontal bars.

Choose Clear Horizontal Bars.
