Import ValueSet values from clipboard

Values for Type 1 and Type 2 ValueSets can be imported from another source, such as Excel or another database. Simply copy the values to the clipboard and paste into the ValueSet.

Paste values into a Type 1 ValueSet:

1. In the other application, copy the values to the clipboard.

2. In Milestones Professional, choose Tools | Graph Options | Set Up ValueSets.

3. Click the Create/Edit button for the appropriate ValueSet.

4. Click Display/Edit Values for the Type 1 ValueSet.

5. Click the Import Values From Clipboard button.

Paste values into a Type 2 ValueSet:

1. In the other application, copy the values to the clipboard.

2. In Milestones Professional, right-click the task row for the values.

3. Choose Edit ValueSet. (A Type 2 ValueSet must have been previously set up.)

4. Click the Edit button for the appropriate ValueSet.

5. Task Row Only.

6. Click the Import Values From Clipboard button.

Example: Copy and paste ValueSet values from the clipboard

In this example, the spreadsheet on the left contains numbers that are copied and then pasted into the Type 1 ValueSet's Edit Values dialog box. The number of values copied should match the number of available Value slots. If four values are copied and pasted into three available Value slots, then only the first three values will appear.
