PowerPoint and screen redraws are slower than usual

Question:

My schedule, just created from scratch, is exhibiting very weird behavior.

    • Each triangle paints individually on start up, and the entire chart takes several seconds to open up.

    • Copying to PowerPoint (3 slides) takes between 5 and 30 minutes.

    • PowerPoint slides so created paint each symbol individually, and take a very long time.

Answer:

This is likely caused by "3-D" symbols and can cause slowness on some very dense schedules.  In general we recommend that 3D be turned off for dense schedules.

  • To turn off 3-D for a symbol, just double-click that symbol in the toolbox and un-check 3-D Look.
  • If you want to retain 3-D, you can do the following:

    1. On the Tools tab, check  Speed up 3-D Symbol Highlight drawing.
