Answer:Metafiles created by Milestones are scalable once pasted into an application such as Word or PowerPoint. Text, graphics, symbols, etc. all scale smoothly, without any jagged edges, as the pasted in picture is resized up or down.
To make this smooth scaling possible, Milestones needs to create the picture in a large enough resolution so that it can be easily scaled up or down smoothly without any large resolution jumps that may cause text, especially, to appear mis-sized at some scales. So, Milestones always uses the current printer as the scaling base, since it always has a larger set of pixels per to work with than the screen.
Once in a while, you may find that the orientation of your printer does not match the orientation of the Milestones schedule. For example, your printer may be set to portrait, while your schedule is set to landscape. This will almost always cause part of the metafile to be missing, since Milestones tried to map a landscape metafile onto a portrait printer page. This is easily fixed by simply going into the Milestones Layout menu and ensuring that the Printer orientation and size are in synch with the current Milestones settings.
Sometimes, the current default printer is not appropriate for use in creating a metafile, such as a FAX printer driver. This is usually fixed by selecting an actual printer as the current printer in Milestones, and confirming the printer page size and orientation match the settings of Milestones as seen in the Milestones Layout menu. The Print Preview option in the Milestones File menu is a good to place to see if there are any printer layout issues.
