Countdown as a date heading

Question:

Would it be possible to show date heading as a monthly count based on an event or milestone without utilizing custom heading options?

Case #1
We would like to show range of month before milestone as count down (e.g. -1, -2, -3 and so on of the month from project award, and +1, +2, +3 of month after project award).

Case #2
We would like to show some specific part of the project in where the project start out of range start dates however the months date headings count from specific event/milestone which is not in the range of start and finish date.

Answer:

Many of the date headings will allow a starting number.

  1. Click once on any of the date headings on the schedule.  The toolbar changes to Current Object: Date Heading.

  2. Select the monthly date heading Monthly: 1,2,3,...12, 13.  This one offers continuous numbering.

  3. Enter a number for Start for that date heading.

Example 1:

This example uses -7 for the start number.  Note that zero does appear when using this type of heading.  The workaround for this is to use a custom heading (see example 4 below)

Example 2:

This example uses 17 for the starting month number.

Example 3:
