EV line takes a sharp drop

Question:

I have attached a file showing EV calculations I am doing for a project. I notice that the EV curve takes a dive after the current date“ or close to it. For the life of me I cannot understand this behavior.

Answer:

This is a simple fix.

On the Tools tab, choose Set Up ValueSets.
Click the Create/Edit Button for the Earned Value ValueSet.
Click the Graphic Properties tab.
Graph as Cumulative. Notice the difference below:

Calculate BCWS using baseline duration

Earned Value

Show curves and bars in DataGraph

Refresh percent complete with a field other than percent complete
