Vertical gridlines

Vertical gridlines are aligned along time boundaries (years, fiscal years, quarters, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and custom headings).

The user also has control over the line pattern and color of the vertical gridlines. For example, it might be desirable to use dotted lines to separate months and solid lines to separate years.

Display vertical gridlines:

  1. Choose Format | Gridlines | Vertical Gridlines...

  2. Check as many grid line options as you want.

  3. For each selection made in step 3, specify a Frequency (or leave it at the default of 1). For example, a yearly heading level with a frequency of 5 will draw a vertical grid line every 5 years; a monthly heading level with a frequency of 4 will draw a vertical gridline every 4 months.

  4. Choose Line Color and/or Line Type options for each selection made in step 3.

Check () Extend Vertical Gridlines into DataGraph Area to show grid lines in DataGraphs.  For "vertical shading" of a time period, use curtains.
