Add a missing Microsoft Project field to a schedule

Question:

I imported my Microsoft Project schedule but forgot one of the project fields.  Can I add it in?

Answer:

Yes!  If your schedule was imported from Microsoft Project, then it's possible to add an Microsoft Project column and have Milestones fill in the data.

First open the Microsoft Project file associated with this schedule.

  1. Choose New Column on the Insert tab.

  2. From the list, choose Microsoft Project Column...

  3. From the Microsoft Project fields list, choose the field to be added.    At this point a prompt will ask whether the new column should be populated with the new field's data from Microsoft Project.  Verify that the correct unique identifier is selected and choose OK.
