Automatically update % complete on a bar

I want the percent complete value to populate as symbol text when a symbol-horizontal bar-symbol is added to the schedule.

Symbols and Bars Fill to Status Date on the Dates tab must be checked on.
In the toolbox, double click the symbol (start of finish) which should display the % complete value.
In the Symbol Properties dialog box that displays select the Default Text tab.
On Line 1 enter the substitutable text string &percentcomplete.
When the symbol (or bar) is added to the schedule the % complete value will be added on the schedule as symbol text.

Note: The percent value will not be added to any instances of that symbol already on the schedule.
