Symbols disappear after refresh

Question:     

Some of my symbols are disappearing after I refresh the schedule from Microsoft Project.  Help!

 

Answer:

There are two possible reasons for this.

First possibility - symbols are status symbols

Are the symbols defined as "status" symbols?  In this case they will disappear if you refresh with the option "Refresh Percent Complete" checked.

Check and fix this:

  1. Double-click the symbol in the toolbox. 
  2. Change the symbol type to Normal.
Second possibility - schedule time or date range is inconsistent with the Microsoft Project schedule

Check your Milestones schedule to make sure that the Workday start and end times are consistent with Microsoft Project ( Dates | More Settings | Hourly/Minute.)

Also, if your Microsoft Project includes Saturdays and Sundays, make sure that Work Saturday and Work Sunday are checked in Dates | More Settings | Weekly/Daily.
